PlayStation 4 and PS4 Pro get deep discounts at Amazon

In what is more than likely a limited time deal, Amazon USA is selling the PlayStation 4 Slim 1TB model for $48 off its normal $299 price (16% discount) and the PlayStation 4 Pro 1TB model for $100 off the normal price of $399 (25% discount). There are even some PS4 Slim 1TB “Only On PlayStation” Bundle packs available still which come with the console, God of War, The Last of Us, and Horizon Zero Dawn for $249. Considering how infrequently game consoles reduce in price, these are pretty big discounts. There’s even a few units of the PS4 Pro Modern Warfare bundle going for $351 USD giving 12% discount and a free copy of the latest COD.

In Canada, the PS4 Pro 1TB NHL 20 Bundle is going for $448 CAD (10% discount), and the PS4 Slim 1TB “Only On PlayStation” Bundle is going for $344 CAD (9% discount) but is only available through third party sellers, facilitated through Amazon Prime.

Given the presentation of the discount, this is likely not the usual ‘permanent price drop’ as seen before when new consoles make their way to the market. So if you want this deal, buy it now. With our latest PlayStation 5 Price Update we have a pretty good idea that the next-gen consoles will be around $499 USD or more and so we could see the permanent price of PS4 Pro land around $349 USD or remain where it is at $399 USD during PS5’s launch period. This will probably be the best pricing on PS4 and PS4 Pro units until the next Black Friday / Boxing Day event comes around.

Here at RealGamerNewZ, we are always on the cutting edge. For many gamers, PS4 is becoming old news – and it’s time for PS5. However, there’s nothing wrong with somebody who hasn’t experienced the PS4’s vast library of games picking one up on the cheap right now. This is probably the best time for such a thing, as the software will be discounted heavily throughout the next few years – and some third party games will even release as “cross-gen” titles that are available on both PS5 and PS4 (though not for long).

In addition to this, some titles such as Fortnite, Rocket League, and Modern Warfare support cross-play between PS4 and PC / Xbox players and are likely to allow PS4 players to join in on matches with PS5 players as well (certain games only). So if you have a family member who doesn’t care about being on the latest hardware, but loves gaming – this can also be a great gift idea.

Editor’s Note: On Amazon’s Australia and UK web stores the pricing for PlayStation 4 and PS4 Pro appears to be decreased right now as well.
