With a waterfall flow of information already coming forward regarding the next console generation from Microsoft and Sony it seems like right now is a good time to take stock of the overall data and what it all means from a big picture perspective. Either the PlayStation 5 or Xbox Scarlett may end up being overpowered compared to the competition, but for now that remains in debate. Without final specs and independent third party testing we just don’t know yet. In terms of official announcements, we do have confirmation on several key factors regarding the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Scarlett.
If you haven’t heard of it yet, the Oculus Quest is a VR headset which has its own processor, ram, graphics, and storage housed within an inside-out tracking visor and comes with two wireless Oculus Touch controllers. The system does not require any trackers, performs at room-scale or stationary, and uses the Oculus eco-system with cross-compatibility to many PC VR games, apps, and services. An alleged Amazon UK listing which was leaked said “Watch Dogs Legion is set in a near-future, dystopian version of London. It’s a post-Brexit world in which society, politics, and technology have changed and altered London’s fortunes,” & “Play as anyone, Every individual you meet in the open world, has a full set of animations, voice over, character traits and visuals that are generated & guided by gameplay systems.”

Last month it was announced that a new Earthworm Jim will release exclusive to the Amico. With in-house console design experts and investment in game development studios, Intellivision are taking the Amico console very seriously. During a time in which gamers having growing frustrations with AAA games, the Amico provides a very different platform full of potential.
The Amico releases in 2020, and this year’s E3 2019 will be the first time game journalists will get hands-on with playable consoles, controllers, and twenty two playable Amico games – all of which are exclusive titles. Although this will occur behind closed doors for press appointment only, it’s a great sign that things are on schedule for Amico. We also have information on how the games available for demo would break down in terms of genre and style.
In part of a financial forecast made by Square Enix regarding Fiscal Year 2019 and 2020 the release date of an unnamed major video game was cited to investors as a large boost for market performance at Square Enix. Fans who follow the game industry have already been gathering hints about the upcoming Marvel’s The Avengers video game by Crystal Dynamics and Eidos Montreal since it was announced by Square Enix in the beginning of 2017. The reports suggest it’s a safe bet that the game will see a heavy marketing push and could also be likely to release this year.
