Gears of War 4’s first ranked season starting soon

The first ranked season of Gears of War 4 is “on the way” in a statement made by the Coalition. “A Season is a period of time (usually a few months) where you can earn your rank through placement matches, and then go up (or down) based on performance,” the dev stated. They went on to say that “At the end of a Season, your rank will be reset and you’ll have to earn your Skill Rating through another set of placement matches and improving your skill over time. We’re still determining the optimal length for each Season – we’ll share more close to the launch of Season 1.” Rewards will also be included during the season, and of course after the season. These awards will range from skins based on your rank. The season will also introduce a new skill based matchmaking system, for a more fair multiplayer environment. In the coming weeks we should know more about Gears 4’s first season. Gears of War 4 is available on the Xbox One, and Windows 10, stay tuned at RGN for all of your Gears of War news.

Next Gears of War Leaked??

Now I know a lot of us gamers have played and/or heard of Gears of War and have played the games from the first Gears of War, all the way to Gears of War: Judgment. But as we know, no new info about the Gears game has been announced yet. That may have changed now thanks to a new leak that has arisen that may give us the information we have been looking for.

Recently on Wednesday during Gamescom, Xbox streamed from the looks of it, a teaser trailer. Its title, “Gears of War Repercussion”, and the description said only this, “Embargo 11/7/14”. What could this mean for current Gears of War fans? No one knows yet. Some think that it was an accidental leak Xbox, some think it was on purpose.  Either way this seems to show that a new Gears of War may definitely be on its way to Xbox ONE. We will just have to wait and see what November 7th brings.

When asked by a fan twitter if he gotten a call in regards to reprising his role as Augustus ‘Cole Train’ Cole in the next Gears of War title, actor Lester Speight states that was indeed the case.

Video Reaction To Microsoft Buying The Rights To Gears Of War

Microsoft recently purchased all rights to the Gears of War franchise for 100 Million $ or less, which is a good deal on MS part. Gears of War is a Horror Sci-Fi Third Person Shooter that was developed by Epic Games and now will be developed by Black Tusk Studios with lead Rod Ferguson who has worked on the Gears of War series, and BioShock Infinite. Black Tusk Studios is a new studio owned by Microsoft that is developing a unnamed title for Xbox One, and now Gears of War for Xbox One. Is Microsoft buying the Gears series from Epic a good idea?

‘BioShock’ Finite

Reports have surfaced that ‘BioShock Infinite’ Product Director, Rod Fergusson, is leaving developer Irrational Games. Fergusson joined the team at Irrational to help finish the in-progress production of the latest ‘BioShock’ title following his departure from Epic Games where he worked on the ‘Gears of War’ series.

Of his departure from Irrational, Fergusson says “During my departure from Epic, I learned that Irrational was in need of a ‘closer’ to help finish ‘BioShock Infinite…’ I’ve been striving for better storytelling in the games I’ve worked on and I saw this as a great opportunity to learn from Ken and his team on how to build a truly story-driven game.” The Ken to which he refers is of course Ken Levine, Irrational’s creative lead. He goes on to say, “I am very proud of the work that I did and of the team and what they were able to accomplish on ‘Infinite.’  Now with the game shipped successfully, I’ve done what I set out to do here and now I’m looking forward to the next chapter in my life and career.”

He has not announced any future plans, though you can follow him on Twitter: @GearsViking

Tristans Twisted World: Gears of War Judgment Free Haven and Execution DLC impressions

The new free DLC for Gears of War Judgment features a brand new map called Haven. It also brings back the classic Gears of War game mode Execution. The Execution game type as seen no change to it, which is a good thing cause its classic. Now Haven is very detailed and eire looking map. It seems that is made for either Execution or Domination. I think this DLC is a good little free nudge which I will enjoy when playing. My only issue is that why was this not in the main game. It seemed that it should have been. I guess it is not for us to decide till next time.
