Atlus Game ‘Tesla Effect: A Tex Murphy Adventure’ Gets Elaborate Detective Contest

Tesla Effect: A Tex Murphy Adventure is a point-and=click adventure game based on mystery and is available for pre-order on Windows XP, Vista, 7, and 8 through GOG.COM through the game’s developer Big Finish Games and publisher Atlus.

Here is an excerpt from the character motivation and plot overview of this game for point-and-click gamers that want to skip to the chase and see what makes Tesla Effect special:

“What starts out as the worst hangover in history becomes a baffling nightmare: something – or someone – has erased Tex’s memory of the past seven years.

Motivated by lost love, revenge, and the world’s strongest coffee blend, Tex must retrace his own steps into a maze of unsolved murders, hidden agendas, and lost technologies of Nikola Tesla. Only by solving the mysteries of his past can Tex hope to regain his memory in time to restore what’s been lost and stop a terrifying future.”

This title will release officially on April 22, 2014 but placing a pre-order gives access to a number of exclusive benefits including one of the four Tex Murphy games for free as well as the Official Tesla Effect Soundtrack (in MP3 and FLAC formats). Below are the Contest Rules for a completely wild campaign that potential players can participate in through YouTube and Video Editing (you have until May 1, 2014 to submit something).

The minimum requirements are pretty easy, just have a Dual Core or better, 4GB of RAM, and something capable of doing DirectX 9.0c – oh and you’ll need about 15GB free hard drive space though the game installs at just 1.3GB.

Contest Rules:

Using the provided unused footage filmed for Tesla Effect: A Tex Murphy Adventure (go to http://files.gog.com/contest/TeslaEff… for the source file) create your own video that will give Tex a vital clue to solve a murder, and then email the link to [email protected] before May 1, 11.00 AM GMT.

The prizes include Tesla Effect Swag Bags (Shot Glass, T-Shirt, Soundtrack and Buttons) and codes for all the classic Tex Murphy games on GOG.com!
