Gamescom 2013 Attendance Record; Awards Named for Titanfall, Destiny, Elder Scrolls Online

Gamescom 2013 announced today that its new attendance record set this year is around 340,000 visitors in attendance with 635 exhibitors showing off games to the gaming press industry. Gamescom 2013 also saw fit to reveal their awards for many various categories, most notably of which came in for Titanfall grabbing up Best Next Gen Game and Best Xbox Game, while Destiny snagged Best Action Game, Best Sony Game, and Best Online Multiplayer Game.

The Elder Scrolls Online managed to scoop up Best Role Playing Game, and the bulk award for best Casual, Social, or Online Game. Nintendo also saw some awards with Mario Kart 8 being named the Best Nintendo Game, Best Family Game, and The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds named the best mobile game (although technically it’s a handheld game not a mobile game). Some of Gamescom 2013’s awards seem to be conflicting, and don’t really make a ton of sense. Other awards include Forza Motorsport 5 as Best Racing Game and Battlefield 4 as the best PC Game.
