There was plenty of anime, familiar faces, and nearly all genres of gaming received new announcements. Nintendo did some new things this year, including a collaboration with Netflix to present a game based on the Dark Crystal film. They’ve delivered the promise of closer looks at upcoming exclusives while somehow managing to get more third party support than ever. More so than ever, there is something for everyone in the form of high quality, complete games.
After a one week delay due to the recent earthquake in Japan, Nintendo dropped their biggest Direct presentation (that isn’t purely about Smash Bros.) in a long time. With some of the content announced by third parties leading up to the show, a little bit of thunder was missing from this conference – but all in all, fans have a lot to look forward to this year and next year on the Nintendo Switch handheld / console hybrid platform.
