Going to San Diego Comic Con? Get Ready for Xbox Original Halo Live Action TV Show Sneak Peak

If you’ll be travelling to San Diego for Comic Con this year (or are San Diego native planning to hit up the event) then you’ll be one of the first to check out the Xbox Exclusive Halo Live Action TV Show. Some amount of question remains as to whether Steven Spielberg is still involved in the project or not after ambiguity was put into the air when himself and George Lucas were seen at the industry trade event where the series was originally announced fraternizing about how they feel video games are not a powerful medium. At that same table sat a very nervous looking Don Mattrick who shortly after left Microsoft and is the main reason why MS were able to land Spielberg for the project in the first place.

That being said, production on the series is still thrusting forward with or without Spielberg and fans shouldn’t shed a tear if he does depart, since MS seems to have a pretty firm grip on what their fans what these days (as evident by their powerful E3 2014 presentation which was able to make doubters into believers. Be sure to stop by if you’re in San Diego and let us know what you thought of the first look at Microsoft’s foray with making one of their most acclaimed franchises into a television-style Xbox Original series for digital distribution. Below you will find the time, place, and itinerary of this sneak peak preview event.

New Political Show The Brink Hitting HBO Soon If World War 3 Doesn’t Start First

The director of Austin Powers and producer of Ocean’s Eleven is heading up a new HBO television series with comedian Jack Black and Tim Robbins cast center stage in a politically chaotic world in which a third World War is always on the brink of occurring. Hence the show’s name, The Brink. Tim Robbins plays the United States Secretary of State while Jack Black is a Foreign Service Officer.

Details are a bit sparse on the entire plot of Dark Comedy / Political Drama The Brink but viewers can expect a deeply provoking crisis or two to be at the focus of attention while the characters involved must do their best to keep the world in one piece. Other actors involved in the project which currently has no release date include Pablo Schreiber, Aasif Mandvi, Maribeth Monroe, Geoff Pierson, Eric Ladin, and Esai Morales.

Xbox Un-Earthing Stockpile Of The Worst Game Ever Made

Microsoft has announced earlier this week that a new exclusive documentary will air on the Xbox LIVE Network for Xbox 360 and Xbox ONE next year. Described as “one of the most controversial mysteries of gaming lore”, the documentary is actually a legit investigation and excavation of what is rumored to be a massive stockpile of E.T.: The Extraterrestrial Atari 2600 carts which the world refused to hold on to and either returned for a refund or never bought in the first place. The title is being recorded January 2014 and will be released some time later in that year with Zak Penn directing and Simon Chinn alongside Jonathan Chinn producing. This is the first in a string of exclusive documentaries being published by Xbox Entertainment for the Xbox LIVE platform so expect more announcements as we roll forwards into the new year.

Google Buzz Discontinued, Backups of Your Posts Go To Google Drive

Google sent out an email today detailing the changes in Google Buzz as it is completely shut down July 17, 2013 and during this shutdown apparently users who did opt-in and use Google Buzz will have backups of their posts saved to their Google Drive account viewable by people on Google+ and verified with authors of the post. Take a look at the full communication below which was sent to customers today. Google is currently making way for larger investments as they will soon begin rolling out Fiber Internet technology and service around the United States to compete with Cable and Fiber Internet providers for High Speed Business, Gaming, Television, and Server solutions.

Google Buzz Discontinued, Backups of Your Posts Go To Google Drive

Buzz User,

In October 2011 we announced Google Buzz was shutting down. On or after July 17th, 2013, Google will take the last step in the shutdown and will save a copy of your Buzz posts to your Google Drive, a service for storing files online. Google will store two (2) types of files to your Google Drive, and the newly-created files will not count against your storage limits.

The first type of file will be private, only accessible to you, containing a snapshot of the Google Buzz public and private posts you authored.
The second type of file will contain a copy of only your Google Buzz public posts. By default it will be viewable by anyone with the link, and may appear in search results and on your Google Profile (if you’ve linked to your Buzz posts). Note, any existing links to your Google Buzz content will redirect users to this file.

Any comments you made on other users’ posts will only be saved to those users’ files and not to yours. Once the change described in this email is final, only that user will be able to change the sharing settings of those files. This means that if you have commented on another author’s private post, that author could choose to make that post and its comments public. If you would like to avoid that possibility, delete all your Buzz content now.

The new Google Drive files will only contain comments from users that previously enabled Google Buzz, and the files will not contain comments that were deleted prior to moving the data to your Google Drive.

Once the files are created, they will be treated the same as any other Drive file. They are yours to do with as you please. This includes downloading them, updating who can access them, or deleting them.

Before these files are created, you can view the Google Buzz posts you have authored here. If you do not want any of your Buzz posts or comments saved to Google Drive files, you can immediately delete your Google Buzz account and data.

Thank you for using Google Buzz.

Sony Confirms 4K (Quadruple High Definition) Movies For PlayStation 4

With the new format of television starting to gain popularity in the high-end market and planned to be introduced to the mid-stream and main-stream markets over the next few years, 4K (also can be explained as Quadruple High Definition) is going to be supported on next generation consoles but may not be heavily advertised as to avoid scaring off potential customers who don’t want to hear about the possibility of upgrading their television in the next generation console lifecycle.

However, just like High Definition slowly took over so will the 4K format. Sony is already prepared for this, and likely other console manufacturers announcing consoles soon as well. Not only will games receive some sort of 4K support, yet-to-be-announced, but there will also be films in 4K. In fact, much like the 3D and HD formats, the films, television, and sports have already been being recorded in 4K for a long time now and studios already have the content to be released.

Sony will offer a service to either provide streaming and/or downloading of 4K videos (movies, sports, and television programs) on their PlayStation 4 console making it destined to be one of the most popular 4K devices (just as PlayStation 4 introduced Blu Ray HD). By the time consumers are aware of 4K they will likely already have a device and titles for that device which support the new Quad HD format, thanks to the  next generation of gaming.
