Titanfall 2 Wargames Update Impressions

The latest update for the underappreciated Titanfall 2 released yesterday for free. It featured a new map, some new features, and some tweaks to the UI. First off let’s talk about the map. This was a map that was also DLC in the first Titanfall game, I liked it back then, and I really like it now. It is probably one of the Titanfall maps that takes full advantage of your mobility, plenty of areas to climb, jump, and wall run. Combat has a nice flow all over the battlefield as it is more of a medium sized map, which the base game was lacking.

Another new feature is allowing players to hold 3 weapons now, like in the first Titanfall. This feature is greatly welcomed. No longer will you have to decide between a anti-titan weapon and a pistol. Just go into battle with both. Now my only complaint is the transition is not as smooth on a controller. In the first game your primary and secondary you switched between with Y on Xbox, and hit the left d-pad to bring out your anti-titan weapon. Now you can decide whether the pistol or anti-titan weapon is your secondary, but if you want access to that third gun you’ll have to hold down Y, I am sure this is no issue on PC but with a controller it feels a tad clunky.

All and all there really is not too much to talk about here, a great gameplay change, a new map, it’s great. Titanfall 2 continues to get better with each piece of free additional content, one of the rare multiplayer games that just doesn’t get old.

Titanfall 2 Wargame Gameplay Trailer (Update Available Now)

“It’s all fun-and-games until someone loses a Titan in the latest free DLC pack for Titanfall 2: The War Games. Pilots on the Frontier frequently use simulator pods to train, using life-like recreations of historical battles as combat scenarios. The remastered map “War Games” highlights the civilian shops, city streets, and tall buildings for window-to-window fighting from the Battle of Angel City, as well as the large, open tank garage facilities for hand-to-hand Pilot combat from the Battle of Airbase Sierra. The outskirts of the map feature a clean, VR style perfect for Titan duels, while Pilots are often found running along the bright, interconnected wallrunning routes.”

“The War Games free DLC pack also includes a free new Live Fire map “Traffic”, featuring a weathered test site where pilot positioning is pitted against mobility across two busy thoroughfares. Dense cover makes every corner a threat, with room for snipers to hide in the back fields.”

“This DLC pack also includes some key free features, including the addition of a 3rd weapon slot, the permanent addition of Titan Brawl as a game mode, and the latest Holo Pilot execution that will put your shadow boxing skills to the test”

Titanfall 2 DLC Update coming next week

The next update for Titanfall 2 is hitting us on June 27th for free. It features a map called “War Games’. It seems similar to a DLC map from the first Titanfall game, but more expanded. Along with new weapons, skins, abilities, etc. In my opinion Titanfall 2 is one of the best shooters on the market right, free content, and perfect gameplay. Please do buy it and give it a chance.

Titanfall Turns A Year Old, Season Pass Becomes Free

Today is the anniversary of the launch of Titanfall. Since the launch of the game the community has really made a lot of content for the game and developers at Respawn Entertainment have noticed and want to return the favor. So today if you own a copy of Titanfall on PC, Xbox 360, or Xbox One you can go to either Xbox Live or the Origin Store and add the Season Pass to your game for free. This includes all of the maps that have been made from the community as well. It’s really great to see a developer give back to the community in a big way, hopefully we will see more things like this from other developers in the future.

Illuminati In Gaming Episode #1: Ready At Dawn’s Misleading, Ruined Reputation

The Order 1886 is Ready At Dawn’s first full-fledged production, but has it done the development studio more harm than good? The only other games Ready At Dawn has been known for thus far were the PlayStation Portable God of War games which as we all know came out great but are nowhere near the development challenge of next-gen console games. Take a listen as we discuss some major issues with the industry and how we feel about them. As always, you are free to disagree and feedback is yours to give.

Titanfall (Xbox ONE Version) Is #1 Selling Game In March 2014; 5 Million Xbox ONE Consoles Sold

This is a real accomplishment, while Microsoft’s Xbox ONE has outpaced the Xbox 360’s launch sales by 60% (according to NPD numbers published by Microsoft’s VP of Marketing, Strategy and Business at Xbox) , and Titanfall (Xbox ONE Version) was named the #1 top selling title in March 2014. Respawn Entertainment, largely comprised of the developers who created the Call of Duty and Medal of Honor franchises, is responsible for the Titanfall Xbox ONE and PC development as well as laying the ground work for the Xbox 360 version.

This generation is truly the largest one yet ruling out all past claims that console gaming was dead as both consoles soar beyond such a grim horizon. Sunset Overdrive from Insomniac and Project Spark are pointed to as well as the [email protected] (indie developer program) for future prospects as well as June E3 2014 announcements forthcoming. Stay tuned to RealGamerNewz for all Next Generation News and of course lots of other things you may or may not have heard about yet. Shout out to Microsoft for delivering on the numbers announcement.

New Titanfall Maps Titled “Expedition” Announced for May Along With New Modes

Respawn Entertainment has announced a new map pack for their hit game Titanfall. The map pack entitled “Expedition” drops some time next month according to the announcement made at PAX East yesterday.

The new maps will enable use to wall run off trees, use vines as zip lines and the team is supposedly looking into Titan customization as well. Along with the new maps new modes will also debut as well such as 2v2 Last Titan Standing matches, along with new Burn Cards, and Titan abilities. Another feature talked about was the ability to use hashtags in game to find other players. How this will work remains to be seen but it sounds interesting.

Are you all still playing Titanfall or are you burned out on it? How many of you want to see customization for Titans? How do you feel about the announcement of the new maps and modes? Let us know in the comments below.
