RealGamerNewz H1Z1 Steam Early Access Impressions

Hello RGN Readers, my name is John Clark and I’m part of the RealGamerNewz Community. I’ve been playing H1Z1 for the few weeks now that it’s been available on Steam Early Access and in my opinion if you’re into the survival horror meets action genre of video games then this is the game for you. Here are my thoughts and impressions of the game thus far at the timing of this post.

I must say, H1Z1 is phenomenally well put together. There are two types of gameplay I see on it that are on the forefront but this is only minimalist compared to what others can do with a little time and creative ingenuity. Of course, creation is limited to what you can also defend since this is a persistent world game with plenty of PvE but also PvP elements that can often be brutal and unforgiving. In that sense, H1Z1 is very straightforward, kill or die!

At the start of the game all you really have as a survivalist player is a back pack with some rags and a flare. From the start players must go around the map looking for food, wood, metal, and water, and in the midst of doing this have zombies running after them not to mention wolves. If you’re the type to delve into PvP moments either on purpose or by accident, you’ll end up with over players trying to kill you for your lot or sometimes they team up with you and make a group to help you out and get better / stronger in both PvP as well as PvE.

To get good at H1Z1 players have to just stick with it, the zombies and wolves are there for killing and you have to adapt every 30 minutes or so to find food currently plus drink some type of clean water before you die of hunger and starvation. In my opinion, the air drops that players can pay for in the game are perfectly fair except I don’t see them often enough as a person not paying for them – I was promised the chance to shoot them down or steal them from other players if I’m in their vicinity. Hopefully I get to live out that promised experience soon. If you ask me, there are too many campers who use a campfire as a friendly fire warning but then shoot you anyways in the back of the head. One time a few people picked me up and brought me around and then spoke to me about teaming up with me. Suddenly, one departed from the group briefly. He then proceeded to kill me. This kind of thrill is exhilarating and fun but there needs to also be an equal way for players to team up together. Giving each other just 2% of what you get isn’t seeming fair to me.

If you play H1Z1 and want to meet up and level up with me or go into towns, villages, and camp sites together make sure you are ready and add me. My in-game name is John1989

Watch Capcom Save a Little Girl From Certain Bloody Death in RE: Revelations 2

One of the best things about the Resident Evil series has always been enemy design. In the latest gameplay video to surface from Capcom for the upcoming Resident Evil Revelations 2 you get to see the Revenant enemy type showcased. This clip also shows the younger female character who many gamers now worry may not have any offensive ability during play. Many are offended at the notion that a younger female could not attempt to defend themselves alongside an older male during a Biohazard (or in America as we call it, THE ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE)!!!

To Capcom’s credit, the Resident Evil series has a long history of leading ladies and empowered female roles, but putting guns into the hands of children (albeit virtual children suffering the unimaginable horror of a monster / zombie apocalypse), might not be the best Public Relations move. This is particularly for Western relations which may prove tumultuous at the moment.

Metro: Last Light Ranger Survival Guide #2: Enemy Danger Released by Deep Silver

Today the highly anticipated sequel to post-apocalyptic shooter Metro 2033 is being showcased in the new Ranger Survival Guide video Enemy Danger which was released today by publisher Deep Silver and development studio 4A Games. Metro: Last Light will release for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and Windows PC May 14, 2013 for North America and a few days later on the 17th of May 2013 for Europe.

In this Enemy Danger trailer for Metro: Last Light gameplay footage is shown as well as the reflective consequences of players’ actions and choices in the game’s vast world in which you are faced with becoming the liberator of mankind from the after effects of our devastation and mutations. Metro: Last Light will seem to play on a legendary myth as old as time, in which the box of pandora has been opened with all the wonders and evils of the world spilling out of it leaving only one “Last Light” of hope.

The salvager of mankind speaks through bullets in this First Person Shooter for the hardcore player that appreciates presentation and experience as well as precision killing in the “End of the World” environment. After all, aren’t we all just practicing for the armageddon?

Microsoft’s Secret Weapon: State of Decay Xbox 360 Console Exclusive Zombies Gameplay Trailer Released

CryEngine 3 open-world survival game State of Decay for Xbox 360 (console exclusive) and PC is featured in the following gameplay trailer released today by Undead Labs and Microsoft Studios. Although many may be sleeping on this title and possibly haven’t even heard of it yet, we have seen an explosive stream of innovation and consumer demand from the Zombie subculture and game genre and this title is poised to make an impact on Microsoft Windows and Xbox 360 this June 2013.

The game itself looks to combine open world aspects of hugely popular ArmA 2 mod, Day Z which also sets players on a huge map finding their way around surviving the Zombie Apocalypse and yet there is also influence seen from the Dead Rising series in the way that comedy is thrown into the mix for a passion-filled bloodthirsty gameplay formula. State of Decay from Dead Labs will serve as Microsoft’s Secret Weapon since it will not be available on PlayStation consoles and will force those who love the new zombies gaming trend, as most gamers do, to get down with Microsoft either on 360 or PC.
